OLL  SCHOOL ADVISORY  BOARD  MEETING  MINUTES

APPROVAL OF MINUTES  It was moved by P. Monarch and supported by B. Hankey the meeting minutes of December 12, 2007 Motion carried.

 

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC None noted                      

 

PARISH COUNCIL: A. Tomczyk reported that a contractor has been hired to replace the roof on the church.

 

FUNDRAISING Carl reported that exterior doors and the installation costs were donated by John Similuk.  We appreciate the generosity of his donation.

Ř  The Hall of Fame dinner dance was a limited success.

Ř  Bowl-a-Fund is scheduled for March 14, 2008 a total of $20,000 is expected from this event.

Ř  Spaghetti Dinner will be held March 15, 2008 after mass; donations are expected to be $2,500.00

Ř  The Silent Auction is scheduled for April 26, 2008; donations are expected to be approximately $40,000.00

Ř  Student Council remodeled a bathroom in the High School at a total cost of $1,900.00

 

PTG :   Barb Hankey reported that the PTG is working on the following projects:

  • $12,000 has been earned towards the purchase of playground equipment. The proposed equipment in the design process and will cost approximately $20,000.00. Final estimates are expected within the week.
  • The read-a-thon is scheduled
  • Pizza kits are available.

 

 

BOOSTER CLUB: Carl reported that with the change in the athletic schedule there will be four sports available to girls in the Spring.

 

MARKETING:  No report.

 

INFORMATION/COMMUNICATION:No report.

 

PRESIDENT’S  REPORT  Carl Reported:

  • Enrollment: 648
  • Faculty and Staff: No changes.
  • Calendar

·         February 25 MQ3 Progress Reports sent home

·         March 6 & 7 Senior Class retreat

·         March 14, 2008 Bowl-a-Fund  (grade 6-12)

·         March 15, 2008 Spaghetti Dinner

·         April 4, 2008 End 3rd Quarter

·         April 7, 2008 No school Teacher in service

·         April 12, 2008 ACT Test

·         April 30-May 5, 2008 8th Grade trip to Washington, D.C.

 

    

BUDGET COMMITTEE    It was moved by R. Nouhan and supported by D. Flesher to charge a registration fee of $350.00 per child after the third child.  It was also moved that the tuition discount for staff be reduced to .33% and .15%.  Motion carried,

 

It was moved by R. Nouhan and supported by A. Tomczyk to approve the 2008-2009 Budget with income of $2,880,250.00 and expenses of $2,788,690.00. Motion carried.

 

ELECTION COMMITTEE No report

 

OLD BUSINESS 

§  Carl reported that the open house had limited success and will be held later in March next year.

NEW BUSINESS   

 

·         Three snow days were held for the year.

·         Possibility of sharing a teacher with the Waterford District for foreign languages.

·         The Waterford District is currently helping with Art/PE and Music.

·         Cleaning crew continues to be an issue,
