OLL  SCHOOL ADVISORY  BOARD  MEETING  MINUTES

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER:  at 7:00pm                                                                  

 

OPENING PRAYER: D. Flesher

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES : It was moved by M. Romkema and supported  by S. Ludlow to approve the meeting minutes of February 20, 2008. Motion carried.

 

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC:  None noted                        

 

PARISH COUNCIL:   A. Tomczyk reported that roof costs will be higher than originally anticipated.

 

FUNDRAISING    : Carl reported the following:

Ř       Silent auction will be held April 26, 2008, in St. Joseph’s Hall; ticket sales are slower than anticipated.

Ř       Bowl-a-fund raised approximately $17,000, after expenses a profit of $15,000.

Ř       Profits from the Bowl-a-fund maybe used for the following upgrades; science equipment for K-12; new floor for multi-purpose room; bathroom improvements.

 

PTG :   Barb Hankey reported that the PTG is working on the following projects:

  • Contract was sign and sent in for the play-structure project at a cost of approximately $19,649.00.
  • A site survey will be done to determine the best location on the property and a final configuration.
  • Tentatively a community build will take place June 28 and June 29, 2008.

 

BOOSTER CLUB: No report.

 

MARKETING: No report.

 

INFORMATION/COMMUNICATION:  Angela reported that Waterford Schools advertise on the cable networks. We could explore the possibility of doing the same.  Angela will further research the feasibility and costs and report back

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Carl Reported:

  • Registered enrollment for 2008-2009 K-12 546; 4 year olds 24
  • Faculty and Staff: No changes.
  • Calendar

·         April 24-25: Chicago Trip

·         April 26: Silent Auction

·         April 30-May 5: D.C. Trip 8th grade

·         May 7: Mid-Quarter 4

·         May 9: In-service No School (Prom)

·         May 12: 6th grade orientation

·         May 14-15 Chicago Trip 7th grade

·         May 21: Junior/Senior Banquet

·         May 23-26: Memorial Day Break (Friday and Monday)

·         June 1: Graduation

·         June 6: 8th grade graduation

·         June 13: Last day of school

    

BUDGET COMMITTEE: No report  

 

ELECTION COMMITTEE: A. Tomczyk was appointed to the election committee.  Angela will have a notice and application put in the church bulletin on Sunday, June 1, and Sunday, June 8, 2008.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS 

§         Carl reported that the current cleaning crew still remains an ongoing issue.

 

NEW BUSINESS

§         Due to a conflict in schedules the May meeting will be held on May 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  The June meeting will be held on June 11th, 2008.
