OLL  SCHOOL ADVISORY  BOARD  MEETING  MINUTES

APPROVAL OF MINUTES  It was moved by M. Romkema and supported by S Ludlow approve the meeting minutes of November 14, 2007.    Motion carried.

 

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC  None                    

 

PARISH COUNCIL   No report

 

FUNDRAISING    No report

 

PTG :   Barb Hankey reported that the PTG is working on the following projects:

 

  • Santa’s workshop will continue for the rest of the week.
  • December pizza kit sales will be delivered next week.
  • Students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 have earned $400 towards their trips. Most of the money was earned by the 6th grade.
  • $12,000 has been earned towards the purchase of playground equipment. The proposed equipment in the design process.

 

 

BOOSTER CLUB : Carl reported that he attended the last Booster Club meeting. The Boosters continue to rely on the proceeds from the Renaissance Festival and Koze nut sales.

 

MARKETING:  Carl handed out a tuition comparison report for schools with the Archdiocese of Detroit.

 

INFORMATION/COMMUNICATION   Karen will e-mail a meeting reminder to all board members the day before the meeting.

 

PRESIDENT’S  REPORT  Carl Reported:

  • Enrollment: 600+
  • Faculty and Staff: No changes.
  • Calendar

·         Christmas Vacation December 22-January 3, 2008

·         January 15-17, 2008Semester Exams grades 6-12

·         January 18, 2008 All school off for Fr. Delonnay’s birthday.

·         January 19, 2008, Saturday  Dinner Dance/Hall of Fame $45.00 per ticket

·         January 22, 2008 Second Semester begins

·         February 14-18, 2008 Winter weekend

§         Elementary computer lab working well

§         Cleaning of the building continues to be an issue

§         Standardized testing results were received and copies sent to parents.

§         High school placement test was given November 17, 2007

§         Annual budget needs to be completed by January 27, 2008

§         Oakland County Credit Union is offering $3,000 in scholarships for OLL students.

 

    

BUDGET COMMITTEE    Budget meetings will be held in closed session January 9th and 10th.

 

ELECTION COMMITTEE No report

 

OLD BUSINESS 

§         Repairs were made to the PA system in the gym including the installation of a new speaker.  The new speaker helped but, the system is still weak in some areas

§         Possibly a technology committee will be formed to develop and evaluate a long term technology plan

 

NEW BUSINESS   

Future meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the High School Library
