OLL PTG MEETING MINUTES

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5, 2008

OPENING PRAYER – 7:04 led by Mrs. Sartori

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Mrs. Sartori provided a report which included the following topics:

• Readathon is underway.
• Cheerleaders took 2^nd place in competition at St. Sebastian.
• Registration is underway.
• Market Day fundraising program will be started with funds split between Drama Club and Elementary school.
• Mrs. Cottrell’s adult education classes for computer information are going well.
• Next year, we need to replace chalk boards with white boards, tile a few more classrooms and replace computer desks. Cheryl Heiss suggested that we try to obtain a grant to replace the chalk boards with “smart” boards. She offered to assist in applying for the grants.
• We still need to replace the girl’s bathroom door.
• TRIP is now being sold at school.
• Need to discuss Teacher Appreciation week and election of PTG officers.
• Art teacher has requested $200 in additional supplies.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

Copies of the minutes from the February 13, 2008 meeting were presented by Mary Gaissert. Motion was made by Laura Ludlow to accept minutes with no changes, deletions or additions. Cheryl Heiss seconded.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Copies of the Treasurer’s Report for February were presented by Christi Simiele. She noted that income from Meijer’s rewards, Pizza kits, popcorn, scrapbook event, and Tenuta’s rewards were deposited. Current PTG balance is $22,155.53. Mary Gaissert suggested that we have enough funds to begin the process to replace the playground equipment. Christi will review funds already committed to other programs. Motion was made by Mary Gaissert to accept the Treasurer’s report with no changes, deletions or additions. Nichole Campbell seconded.

DISCUSSION TOPICS

Euchre Tournament – St. Joseph Hall is no longer available on April 5. After discussion, it was decided that we not sponsor this event this year. A date for next winter (probably January) will be selected over the summer.

Rolladium night – Monday, April 21^st has been reserved. Mary Gaissert will include it in newsletter.

Chuck E. Cheese night – Will probably be the week of May 19. More information to come.

Scrapbooking event – We were short on food donations, but all went well.

First Aid Kits – Julie will provide Mick with a list of needed items. PTG will purchase any items that are not donated.

Gordon Food Service Fundraiser – We will advertise a date each month where parents can purchase from GFS and GFS will return a percentage to the school.

School Supplies Kit – School supply kits are in process. If paid by April 28, discount to OLL is higher.

Secret Santa Shop – Paperwork and money needs to be sent in soon. Motion was made to vote on whether to continue this event. Vote of 6-1 in favor of keeping Secret Santa Shop was recorded.

Pizza Kits – Can now be ordered online, anytime with delivery to your home, although the profit is less. Still need a chairperson to keep this fundraiser going.

PTG Officer Election – A flyer will be prepared for election of officers at the April PTG meeting. The flyer will include volunteers that are needed for school functions, such as pizza kits.

CLOSING PRAYER at 8:30 – Next PTG meeting will be Wednesday April 2nd at 7:00 pm. If you do not find us in the Elementary School Library, we will be in one of the classrooms which offer more room. Look for a note on the library door.
