DISCUSSION TOPICS

Secret Santa Shop – It was noted that there was 1 damaged item which will be exchanged.  Diane Bono discussed the need for more volunteers next year when the younger students are previewing.

Open house – Danielle Crenshaw volunteered to purchase snacks for the open house.  There will be OLL floor mats for sale by PTG during this event.

Rolladium night – Scheduled for January 24th at 6:30.  A flyer will be going home soon.

New fundraiser – Mrs. Ferguson presented a Market Day food fundraiser.  Discussion was had about replacing one of the Pizza kit deliveries with this fundraiser next year.  A benefit is that parents could order items online.  Christi Simiele will check the organization’s website.

Count-Your-Steps – Christi Simiele signed OLL up for this voluntary program for third and fourth grade students.  It begins April 7th and lasts 4 weeks.  We need a volunteer to input the weekly data.

Playground Equipment – Mick Puma brought 2 drawings from Miracle Recreation.  The company still needs to do a site visit.  PTG still needs to raise $8,000 to meet the $20,000 goal.  Funds received from the read-a-thon in March will go toward this fundraiser.

Other fundraisers – Sarina Antaya suggested that promotions such as Campbell’s labels for education, VG receipts and Gordon Foods be part of the OLL website.  She will talk with Mary Cottrell.  It was mentioned that a classroom contest will begin in February for BoxTops.  PTG will look at a new fundraiser in the fall for magazine subscriptions.

Silent Auction – donation deadline is March 30th.   The event is scheduled for April 26th.

PTG Funds – Mrs. Longo asked if the $8,000 was earmarked for anything.  Response is yes – PTG prepared a budget last summer.  The funds will go towards field trips, year end picnic, etc. and also some funds are needed for start up next year.

CLOSING PRAYER at 8:12 – Next PTG meeting will be moved to the second Wednesday which is February 13th at 7:00 pm.   If you do not find us in the Elementary School Library, we will be in one of the classrooms which offer more room.  Look for a note on the library door.
