Our Lady of the Lakes Middle School Dress Code 2008-2009

The 
philosophy of Our Lady of the Lakes Middle School emphasizes the importance of students developing self-respect in the area of dress and personal grooming – appropriateness is up to the discretion of the administration.   The uniform gray skirt, khaki pants, white or royal blue polo shirts with the OLL Middle School logo, physical education T-shirts and navy v-neck sweater or sweater vest with O.L.L. logo, must be purchased from our suppliers, The Campus Closet or Schoolbelles.

Uniforms must be worn for the entire school day, unless otherwise specified.  Please note the following:

 

Girls Dress Code

 

Gray Uniform Skirt - Skirts must be worn to the knee.

Khaki Pants – must be purchased through The Campus Closet or Schoolbelles.

Belt - A plain black or brown belt must be worn with the Khaki’s.

Shirt - White or royal blue polo shirts (long or short sleeved) with monogrammed OLL logo which must be buttoned and tucked in at all times.  White oxford cloth button-down shirt (long or short sleeved) which must be buttoned and tucked in at all times.

Sweater - Navy blue sweater or sweater vest with OLL logo.  These are the only garments to be worn over the polo or oxford shirt.

Socks - Nylons, crew or knee length socks in plain white, gray or navy blue – no logos.  Socks must be worn at all times.

Shoes - Navy blue, black or brown shoes that are closed (front, back and sides), able to be polished leather or leather-like.   Footwear must cover the foot and extend no higher than the ankle.  Heel height must be no more than 2 ½ inches.  Plain white, black, or brown non-marking tennis shoes, with no other colors present, are also included in the acceptable dress code.  Boots, hiking shoes, slip-ons with open heels, clogs, sandals, moccasins, or flip-flops are not acceptable.

 

Boys Dress Code

 

Khaki Slacks – must be purchased through The Campus Closet or Schoolbelles.  Slacks must be worn at the waist (i.e. above the hips).

Belt - A plain black or brown belt must be worn with the Khaki’s.

Shirt - White or royal blue polo shirts (long or short sleeved) with monogrammed OLL logo, which must be buttoned and tucked in at all times.  White oxford cloth button-down shirt (long or short sleeved) which must be buttoned and tucked in at all times.

Sweater - Navy blue sweater or sweater vest with OLL logo.  These are the only garments to be worn over the polo or oxford shirt. 

Socks – White, grey, tan, or navy blue crew length socks - no ankle length or logos.  Socks must be worn at all times.

Shoes - Navy blue, black, or brown shoes able to be polished leather or leather-like.  Plain white, black, or brown, leather or leather-like, non-marking tennis shoes, with no other colors present, are also included in the acceptable dress code.  Boots, hiking shoes, flip-flops, sandals, moccasins, or slip-ons with open heel are not acceptable footwear.

 

Physical Education (6th & 7th grade only)

 

Gym uniform –Athletic shoes and socks, OLL T-shirts and appropriate gym shorts.

 

Warm Weather Dress Code

 

Warm weather dress code is determined by the administration.

 

Boys - Cargo style shorts (NO ATHLETIC SHORTS).

Girls - Capri pants (NO SHORTS, SKORTS OR SKIRTS).

Shoes - Athletic shoes or sandals may be worn - no flip-flops.

 

Jeans Day

 

Students may dress casually, including jeans, cargo pants, tennis shoes and an appropriate shirt.  (No tank tops, no deep v-neck, no belly shirts, no hats, no athletic pants or no Capri pants).

 

 

General Dress Code Information

 

On the day that the middle school attends Mass, students will be required to wear the regulation white oxford cloth button-down shirt and the regulation navy OLL sweater or sweater vest.  Boys will also be required to wear a tie on Mass day.   Only the regulation sweater or sweater vest may be worn for warmth.  If a white shirt is worn under the regulation shirt, it must be plain, without logos or writing.

Regulation school uniform is required for all field trips.
