The 11th Annual John “Wig”man, Jr. Memorial Foundation Scholarship Golf Outing held July 24th was another huge success. As always, Wig shined down on us and it was a beautiful sunny day, with fun had by all.

Six scholarships were awarded totaling $12,000.00. Four of the five college scholarships went to Lakes graduates, including one young man who is studying for the priesthood, and another to an OLL high school student.

With many of the golfers being Laker graduates (and even a teacher in the crowd—yes, you, Mr. Dawson!), a fun time “catching up” was had by all. With many participants living out of the area, the winner for “Who Came the Farthest” goes again this year to Ryan Felice, flying in from London, with the comment that it was a lot closer than China!

A big Thank You to all who golfed, donated, volunteered, or if you couldn’t be there this year, were thinking about our family and remembering Wig.

See you next year for the 12th Annual “Wig Open” - July 23, 2011.
