Our Lady of the Lakes is a Catholic Parish with a school. The most important building on our campus is our Church. Students are able to prepare for and complete their sacraments of initiation during school time. They have religion class daily through 12th grade. They are given opportunities for reconciliation during Advent and Lent. Students also participate in an annual retreat with seniors attending an overnight retreat at St. Benedict Subiaco. They attend Liturgy weekly with their section. Our parish priests design homilies specifically for them and are directly involved in their spiritual development.
Faith in Action
Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish School is proud of its many charitable endeavors. All seniors serve meals at Manna House in Detroit. We provide them with Thanksgiving pies annually. The middle school gives Thanksgiving turkeys and baskets to the Holy Redeemer community in Detroit. We have raised several thousand dollars through our wounded warriors tee shirt sale during football season. We raise money for numerous other causes with paying jeans days throughout the year. The elementary school participates in donations to various animal shelters, collecting books for children, and filling up the shelves of the Clarkston Lighthouse.
Right to Life
Our Lady of the Lakes has the highest rate of student participation in the Right to Life March in the archdiocese.
Our Lady of the Lakes has recently completed a three year upgrade of the facility. All classrooms have new ceilings and floors, updated lighting and internet connections. We have computer labs in all three sections and have three mobile tablet carts. We have wireless access throughout the school. Two gyms help us accommodate a busy CYO and high school sports schedule.
Included in our 18 state championships are awards in football, baseball, boys golf, girls soccer, softball, and girls basketball. We have also been state finalist in girls soccer, basketball, and football.
Extracurricular Activities/Clubs/Student Organizations
Students have the opportunity to participate in various clubs and organizations from elementary throughout high school. These include Student Council, National Honor Society, our Robotics programs (First and Robofest), Drama, Optimist Club, Art Club, Chess Club, Photography Club, Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and Math Pentathlons.
