The Bowl-A-Fund is
our major school based fundraiser. It has been in existence in one form
or another for almost 30 years. There have been changes through the
years, but the goal remains to raise money that will go directly to the
school for needed improvements.
The annual Bowl-A-Fund is
scheduled in March of each school year. This is completely new to some
of you and a dreaded tradition to others. Here are some details:
We
encourage the students not to just ask their parents for money, but
actually get pledges for their bowling from other sources or even
contribute some of their own money.

Students are also encouraged to secure "corporate sponsorships"
which is a tax-deductible donation of $100 or more from a business. A
corporate sponsorship fulfills a student’s pledge. If you can
contribute through your business or can direct your student to a
business which might contribute it would be a great help.

We
always give both individual and group incentives to help us reach our
goals. They are as follows:
-
Bowl-A-Fund day
is an unconventional ½ day of school.
-
When we reach our school goal of
$17,500, we extend Memorial Day Weekend one day.
-
Students who bring in a corporate
sponsorship of at least $100 will have a jeans day every Monday
and Friday before Easter vacation and every Friday after Easter
vacation for the rest of the year.
-
Students
who have completed their pledge will have jeans days on Fridays
starting after Easter vacation for the rest of the year.
The middle school will plan individual and
class incentives, such as the grade with the most money collected will
have and additional jeans day and the homeroom with the most money will
have a class pizza party.

Students will be bussed from Lakes to the bowling center. We ask that
you arrange to pick them up at 11:00. $6.00 will cover the cost of
bowling two games, shoe rental, and bus transportation.
